Just few kilometers far from the crystal-clear waters of the Ionian Sea, with its sandy beaches and suggestive rocks, ancient masseria to be restored with a surface of about 2440 sqm and 5,5 hectares of field. According to historical documents, this wonderful masseria dates back to the late 16th century, and witnesses the local rural housing settlement of that time in Apulia. For a long time, it used to be a kind of farming, before being owned by different figures over the years, such as nobles, knights and intermediaries. The building, with a covered courtyard, is arranged longitudinally over two levels, in its regal and majestic aspect. Its more than 60 rooms are embellished with several typologies of ceilings: star-vaults, barrel vaults and rib vaults, all in excellent condition. The masseria is enriched with many details recalling everyday life of the past. Among these, the granaries, the stables with their troughs, the underground pots of the ancient oil mill, the big drawing rooms, the several fireplaces, and a private chapel. Indeed, as a document dating back to 1778 reports, this chapel used to preserve marble altars, frescoes, effigies and sacred objects. The entire building can be expanded, thanks to its surrounding 5,5 hectares arable land, now cultivated with wheat. Within the plot, the masseria is decentralized, in order to be easily noticed, and it is in good structural condition. In recent years, some restoration work have been made to create a charming tourist accommodation, with swimming pools, tennis courts, restaurants and lodgings. This unique property, thanks to an accurate restoration work enhancing the historical and cultural value, can be brought back to its original splendor, gaining more interest. The marinas of Pulsano distance only 5 kms, the sandy beaches of San Pietro in Bevagna 32 kms, Martina Franca and the other sought-after places in Valle d'Itria 44 kms, Brindisi and the airport 67 kms, and Lecce, the renowned town of Baroque, about 80 kms.
