Further to the south are the beautiful resorts of Pizzo, famous for its sphere shaped, hazelnut and chocolate ice cream “Tartufo di Pizzo,” and Tropea for its beautiful beaches and the iconic Sanctuary of Santa Maria dell’ Isola, an ancient monastery set on a rocky outcrop in the sea.
Other places of interest include the museum housing The Bronzes of Riace and other article of archaeological interest at Reggio Calabria.
