Description
The three farmhouses
In the municipality of Tonco, in the geographical area of the Lower Monferrato, part of the hilly association of the Valleversa, we find a residential solution full of charm, beauty and history. Looking at the house from the outside, one is immediately fascinated by the character of the architectural elements that make up the complex. They give it a bucolic and refined atmosphere. We are welcomed by the wrought-iron gate, enamelled in pastel blue, and the important atrium leading to a second door from which we begin our journey inside this enchanting house, made up of three bodies, completely renovated with taste and attention to detail. Two of them are currently used as primary residences. The third is used as a B&B. The first one has been renovated inside. The concept of a farmhouse has been distorted, with Victorian details surrounded by frescoes and fine details. Entering the ground floor, we find ourselves in an atrium with powder-blue walls decorated with stucco. The main feature is the masonry staircase and the balustrade cornice. The atria follow each other in continuity on either side of this room. The right side of the atrium leads to the large hall with a double vaulted frescoed ceiling, where light enters through a veranda with splendid bay windows leading directly to the open space adjoining the landscaped garden. At the end of the atrium, which has a continuous stone floor, there is a service bathroom. It leads to a bright hallway and a bedroom with a fireplace, stucco work and an en-suite bathroom. To the left of the atrium is a dining room with a strong character. The vaulted ceiling is frescoed in bright colours and an amber marble fireplace gives the room a royal air. From here, through one of the double doors in solid wood that run through the whole floor, you enter the kitchen-living room with its brick vaulted ceiling, which opens onto a pleasant glazed lemon house / reading room, from where you can enjoy contact with the outside world in convivial situations. On the first floor there is a second living room, which is used as a study, with parquet floor, pillars, plasterwork and wooden elements to decorate the room, which gives access to the large balustraded terrace with views of the landscape and the garden, where a beautiful wrought iron pavilion creates a pleasant environment from which to enjoy the views of the landscape. An L-shaped hallway leads to two bedrooms, one of which has a small study and kitchenette. There is also a bathroom and two walk-in wardrobes. The interior of the second wing also has the characteristics of the farmhouse, with a more rustic character, enhanced by more classical and decorative elements such as the fireplace and the custom-made wooden panels on the walls. This ground floor wing is accessed by a central staircase. The other rooms are: a spacious rustic kitchen in pastel blue wood, a dining room, a laundry room and, from the hall, behind a trompe l'oeil door with a bookcase, a bathroom with dark blue enamelled walls and exposed brickwork. On the first floor, accessed by a staircase in luserna stone, there are two well-kept bedrooms with parquet floors and en-suite bathrooms. There is a second frescoed living room with a fireplace and access to a beautiful terrace. In this part of the house, there is a part of the second floor which is still under construction and where there could be three more bedrooms. The last part is used as a bed and breakfast and consists, on the ground floor, of an entrance leading to a rustic-style breakfast room with a large brick fireplace in the centre and unfinished wooden beams, a kitchen and a bedroom with en-suite bathroom, all painted in shades of sage green. On the first and second floors there are a further four bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms, and the exposed wooden roofs give the rooms a distinctive character. In addition to the splendid garden in front of the house, with its relaxing and refined corners, the entire property boasts a harmonious, planted park of 12,000 square metres. A house, or rather three houses, that can satisfy different lifestyles. Enjoy the tranquillity and relaxation of the splendid Monferrato area.
