Palazzo Ladiana is certainly one of the most beautiful buildings in Massafra. Its enviable position in the heart of the historic center allows it to be the perfect trade d’union between the ancient and the modern, enjoying the comforts and liveliness typical of the modern part of the city.
The building consists of two floors with classic heights of a building dated late 1700s, mid 1800s. The ground floor is accessed from the external courtyard of the property, through the imposing 5 meter high wooden door that allows access to a large composed environment from 3 large rooms each with its vaulted ceiling. Access to the rooms on the ground floor is also available from the rear road that connects the Town Hall with the Medieval Castle from which Palazzo Ladiana is 250 meters away. It is on the first floor that the environment develops with 7 bedrooms, 4 of which have a terrace and tiled floor, vaulted ceilings painted and preserved in perfect condition, and stucco to frame the walls. To the east, the terrace directly overlooks the Town Hall with a view of the ravine, to the north there is a splendid view of the clock tower in Piazza Garibaldi.
Continuing along the staircase leads to the second floor where the light is the master. Five large rooms and a coffered ceiling with interwoven wooden beams leave room for imagination and immediately make the property feel like one's own. The west-facing terrace with an area of ​​over 100 square meters allows you to fully enjoy the Apulian sun.
From this terrace you can access the last roof of the entire building, the sky of the building, the highest terrace in the entire historic area of ​​the city of Massafra. The enclosure wall made with terracotta rings painted with green glaze is of particular importance. The history of Palazzo Ladiana sees as the first owner the archbishop of Castellaneta, Mons.Paolo Ladiana who left the property to the person who, in life, had cared so much for him, arriving to our days through a wise work to gather information and restore the rooms to their original state.
