Santa Teresa Gallura can be reached by air or sea from the sea ports and “Costa Smeralda” airport which are in Olbia about an hours drive 60 km approximately, whereas the French island of Corsica is connected to Santa Teresa Gallura’s by ferry the crossing takes about 45 minutes. From the marina day trips by boat are available to the islands around the Maddalena Archipelago, it is also possible to organise fishing trips and hire a boat or yacht.
The main beach in the town centre is called Rena Bianca but there are many other beautiful beaches within a 2/4 km radius such as Capo Testa, Santa Reparata, Porto Quadro and La Marmorata just to name a few. By hiring a car lovely rides in the countryside and towards the world famous “Costa Smeralda”, Porto Cervo, Porto Rotondo and Palau to the east and the picturesque Castelsardo to the south are well worth the effort.
The tourist board is located in Piazza Vittorio Emmanuele, which is the main square in the town centre, with information regarding local events taking place throughout the year like the end of summer jazz festival “Musica sulle Bocche” which takes place every year around the end of August/early September. Market day is every Thursday summer and winter alike, with local farm produce, fruit and vegetables, Sardinian linen, crafts, local delicacies such as the world famous pecorino cheese, clothes, household equipment and much more. Main shops and supermarkets, pharmacy, medical care centre, vet, town hall, post office and all kinds of services can be found in the town centre.
