Farm, 200 m² Noto, Syracuse (province)
Description
D316 certified organic farm located on the SP24 at 700 meters as the crow flies from the baroque city of Noto (1.5Km by car following the SP24).
The farm is currently productive with around 1400 trees. Of the 5 hectares the predominant portion is represented by the citrus grove (3 hectares) with a prevalent production of lemons of the famous variety "Siracusa lemon" (in Italian, "femminello" or Limone di Siracusa IGP), which produces three main flowerings: the primofiore (from October 1st), the bianchetto (Also less commonly known as the maiolino.) (from April 15th) and the verdello (or summer lemon, from July 1st). Our citrus grove has both mature plants and young plants of very high productivity ( photos 12-13 and 21-25). Other species, present in our citrus grove, although in limited quantities, are oranges, mandaranci, mandarins and clementines. In addition to the citrus grove, the remaining 2 hectares are planted with olive groves (photo 19, 32.33), almond grove of the famous variety "pizzuta di Avola" (photo 9,35,36), carob grove and other fruit trees, pomegranates, mulberries , pears, plums, apricots, figs and prickly pears (photo 14-18).
On the ground there is a rural building of 200sqm, with woodshed and a stable for cows with manger (photos 4-9 and 31).
The water for irrigation of the estate is supplied by an artesian well with submerged pump, which reaches a flow rate of 9 l / sec. The well is 210m deep and is covered with PVC up to 180m with a draft already at 90m. The submersible pump has a power of 30 horsepower and is powered by a 50KW diesel generator (picture No. 34 shows the room that houses the well). The irrigation of the citrus grove is automated with a "drip" system tree by tree.
The Land also has a connection to the electricity company and its ENEL meter for domestic use.
The property is easily accessible from the SP24 via a paved private road (photo 01). The entire estate is terraced and fenced. In the southern part of the property, at the bottom of the "Conca D'Oro" there is a stream for the rainwater runoff (photos 26-29).
A peculiarity not to be underestimated of this farm is the abundant availability of water through the artesian well and the contained costs of extracting water thanks to the diesel generator.
The property lends itself to the creation of a farmhouse or a private residence / holiday home for those who want to change their lives and "return to the earth". The proximity to the UNESCO city of Noto ensures a lasting summer / winter tourist interest that knows no crisis, as well as the progressive enhancement of indigenous crops: lemons, olives and almonds.
