Description
In the Val di Noto region, namely in the beautiful Valle degli Dèi (Valley of the Gods), there are plans for luxury villas featuring contemporary design and an exclusive hotel. The project area covers 62 hectares, and includes two splendid farmhouses, providing an exceptional view of the sea and the valley landscape. A huge ensemble, where each villa will have its own extensive land and an infinity pool. These single floor villas will perfectly merge into their surrounding environment, thanks to the use of local building materials.
The lands of the Val di Noto are a true treasure of Sicily, with fascinating towns that captivate with the rich Baroque decorations of their buildings. The marvellous monumental works in the area tell an even more ancient story, with the numerous theatres and temples dating back to the times of Magna Graecia, through to the Necropolis and numerous settlements from prehistoric times. On 11 January 1693, a devastating earthquake razed the towns of the Val di Noto to the ground and the surviving inhabitants rebuilt their towns. Today, the remains of those small villages, which retain a unique style, are a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The Val di Noto offers a rich gastronomic tradition, a legacy of the passage of different people through the centuries. Wine appears very early in mythology and history, and it is here that one of the Made in Sicily excellences is produced: Nero d’Avola. There is the Bronte Pistachio, called "The green gold of Sicily" with its extraordinary colour and unmistakable flavour given by its volcanic mineral components. Finally, the extra virgin olive oil from the Monti Iblei, an essential ingredient that perfumes every dish with the Mediterranean flavour. These are some of the specialities to be discovered within this territory.
The Notino is a destination for famous people who spend their holidays here or who have found their retreat. Among them, the singer Beyoncé, the actress Sarah Jessica Parker, the leader of the Rolling Stones Mick Jagger, Prince Lucio Bonaccorsi and Donna Luisa Beccaria, the French architect and interior designer Jacques Grange, architect Jacques Garcia, the painter Sergio Fiorentino, the top model Kate Moss, the fashion photographer Mario Testino and the artist and designer Samuele Mazza.
