Il Borgo is located in an ancient hamlet formerly called Semifonte. Less than 30 minutes from Florence and Siena, it is conveniently located in the Chianti hills. Semifonte was a fortified town that became a fierce opponent of Florence in the late 12th century. Today this name indicates a locality near Petrognano, in the municipality of Barberino Val d'Elsa, in the province of Florence.
