CASTELLACCIA, is a farmhouse completely surrounded by greenery located in Tuscany, 4km from the center of Massa Marittima, in Alta Maremma and 20km from the sea of Follonica.
The farmhouse is the reconstruction of an old barn dating back to 1870; there are still the original doors and part of the street side façade, as well as the stone used for all the renovation of the facades. The property consists of a farmhouse of 350sqm + 15,000 sqm of wood/agricultural land with 100 wine grapes, 85 olive trees and a dozen fruit plants + an underground pool (10m x 5m) next to a small annex made of the original stone; the whole property is fenced.
The renovation ended in July 2000 and it was divided into 5 apartments. Three apartments can be easily joined into one apartment according to the initial project. 
All apartments: they are furnished with antiques, handmade terracotta floors and heating with wall radiators.
All external and internal fixtures are made of wood.

The farmhouse has a cellar of 40sqm, where there is a boiler, washing machine and a laundry (+ all the equipment to make wine).

The price includes the furniture except for a few personal objects and some pieces of furniture: gazebos/umbrellas for the outside + tables and barbecue + swimming pool furniture are included, too.
Near the entrance of the property there is a parking area.

Once you arrive in the town of Massa Marittima, you can enjoy the artistic beauties dating back to 1100/1200, but also the various summer or even winter events. Do not miss the Balestro race, historical event in medieval clothes where contenders compete to crossbow shoots. As for sports, there is the possibility, in the vicinity to go horseback riding, rent bicycles, practice golf in two splendid 18-hole courses, or move towards the sea where they offer kiteboarding or surfing courses or you can rent boats at the port of Scarlino.  You can enjoy the sea from the beaches of Follonica to those of Punta Ala. If you do not want to get to the sea, right below Massa Marittima there is a delightful lake, Lago dell'Accesa.
Day trips: the farmhouse remains in a barycentric area compared to cities of art such as Siena, San Gimignano, Volterra, Pisa, and 119km from Florence, or places of historical artistic interest such as the Abbey of St. Galgano, the Necropolis of Populonia, various Etruscan sites such as Roselle or Vetulonia; in addition it remains in front of the island of Elba and the Tuscan archipelago with easy possibility of daily visits.
To get there you can use Pisa airport or Follonica railway station, or by car via the A12 + E80 motorway.


Once finished the restoration, the farmhouse has always been used as a “holiday home”, managed directly by us owners who have carefully taken care of the maintenance. All our guests, mostly from other European countries have always said that they have enjoyed the sea without sacrificing peace and rest.
