The owner of the house has transformed a ruin into a welcoming and charming place, outside the box of the usual Tuscan country house. The project was designed by the daughter of the owner, an architect who has signed numerous works, published, in Italy and abroad. He emphasized the light in the large spaces, made even brighter by the old beams painted in white and the ancient pink terracotta, unearthed on a French farm.

A large iron bookcase, which continues downstairs through the glass of the floor, is inserted into a cube of river stones that breaks the linearity of the walls in front of the study corner. The large windows, which almost cancel out the walls, give the impression of living among the plants.

The basement below, heated in winter, has a laundry room, bathroom with shower, ironing room and numerous bedrooms. The house and the annexes are equipped with heating, anti-theft and home automation. Three large tanks for rainwater are used to water the garden with an automatic system. The house is nestled in a small valley surrounded on one side by the scenic Apuan Alps and on the other by an olive grove and a forest from which partridges and wild rabbits come out early in the morning.
