2 bedrooms house, 80 m² Pontremoli, Massa-Carrara (province) Lunigiana
Lunigiana
Description
10 minutes from Pontremoli immersed in the greenery of the Val d'Antena, we offer a pretty stone house in the middle of the medieval village of Casalina. The renovated house is composed on the first floor of entrance into the kitchen and living room. The masonry stairs lead directly to the lower floor where we find the two bedrooms and the bathroom, windowed, with shower. The fixtures are made of wood with double glazing. The heating system is arranged with the possibility of putting radiators. To date there is only the wood stove. The roof is in order. It is a good opportunity for those who want a ready-made house to live in a very quiet village a stone's throw from nature.
In about 45 minutes you can reach the seaside resorts and the cities of Pisa and Parma can be reached in just over an hour.
This property is located in the hilly area north-east of the municipal territory of Pontremoli. Valdantena owes its name perhaps to the Antena stream, which however is not marked in any ancient or modern map. Some scholars say that the inhabitants of Casalina were sure that the valley was named after a shepherd, and quot;D'Antone and quot;, who came first from Tuscany to live in Previdè. Others indicate that Valdantena could derive from the ancient Etruscan name of the Magra river: Antena. In addition to the river, there are numerous streams and canals that descend from the Apennines, characteristic of the Valdantena together with the lush nature, only interrupted by the gray of the villages that rise here and there in the woods.
The villages of Valdantena are Pracchiola, Groppodalosio Superiore and Inferiore, Casalina, Versola, Toplecca Inferiore e Superiore, La Piagna, Barcola, Previdè, Molinello, Cargalla, Ronco Bianco, Groppoli di Valdantena and Cavezzana d'Antena. The valley was affected by two important medieval communication routes, the Via Francigena that descended from the Passo di Monte Bardone and the Strada Lombarda that descended with a variant from the Passo del Cirone towards Pracchiola and Pontremoli. Near Pracchiola there was in fact a hospital for pilgrims just below the pass.
Today's route of the Via Francigena in Valdantena, touches the villages of Cavezzana d'Antena, Groppoli di Valdantena, Previdè, Groppodalosio with the medieval bridge over the Magra, Casalina, Versola and Toplecca, and then continue towards Arzengio and reach the medieval village of Pontremoli after crossing the arch of the old hospital. To see near Pracchiola a suggestive waterfall called and quot;il Piscio and quot;, reachable from the village in half an hour's walk, among the green vegetation typical of these places.
