The Castle of the Rocchette is a beautiful farmhouse dating back to the fourteenth century that is halfway between Todi and Montefalco. It stands on the top of a bare hill surrounded by three streams plus which raise higher hills rich in oak forests.

We are in a unique place where there is an atmosphere full of charm. The Mancini so the notes it in "Todi and its castles": " (..) we meet the castle, so picturesque that it appears to be removed from a book of fairy tales". An important castle that, during its centuries-old existence, has seen the succession of owners belonging to historic and powerful houses.

The castle is the subject of an important restoration under control by the Ministry of Fine Arts (Cultural Wellbeing). The restoration has already involved the external walls, the foundations, the roof, the floor and the wood works. The manor apartment has also been completely restored.

Features

The castle (of a total of 1300 square meters) consists of 4 separate bodies: the stately residence, the watchtower, the central body that houses the church and a nineteenth-century building.

The aristocratic residence is completely restored and consists of two mezzanine floors (first and second).

- The first floor is introduced by a large double height entrance with gallery, historic bas-relief and frescoed ceiling from 1769. It has a large and panoramic kitchen, with wooden ceilings, watershed and fireplace. It boasts a beautiful living room with white weapon wounds and a large main living room with fireplace. Study and hallway and services complete the floor.
- On the second floor there are instead four beautiful bedrooms and services. A first with trusses and watchmaking sessions, a second with mezzanine and access to the upper floor, a third with bathroom and tiled ceiling and a fourth raised.

The watchtower is a quadrangular one in sandstone, has acute sixth windows and dormer holes. The recovery project involves a development on six levels and on its top of the brick bushes.

The central body is articulated over several levels.

- On the ground floor a number of rooms, originally used as cellars, warehouses and stables with eat-in wardrobes that are planned to be converted into a restaurant.
- On the first and second levels 6 apartments for rent. The walls are made of stone and the paving is classic from the time of stone slabs with the ceilings of tiles and beams.

The nineteenth-century building is a beautiful residence connected to the tower overlooking the internal courtyard of the castle and the surrounding countryside.

External

The castle has a fenced outdoor courtyard that leads to the stately residence and a large external courtyard that surrounds the castle on three sides. It also has 7 hectares of land, 5 of which are licensed and 2 of which are owned. In the internal courtyard there is the church of Santa Maria dell'Immaculate Concept which presents an interesting cycle of frescoes from the 16th century.

The castle of the Rocchette lends itself to various uses: a luxury accommodation facility, a prestigious residence or a splendid location for events and celebrations. It is located in a strategic position, in the center of Umbria. It is close to the main road arteries and the historic towns of the region.
