Description
Charming small house, part of which is a thirteenth-century tower, located in the village of Poggio Aquilone, situated on a hill at the height of about 300 meters above sea level, in isolated position. Population according to 2001 census: 78 inhabitants. The village is accessible from the town of Marsciano (PG).
The house, total area of 50 sqm. (plus a cellar of 10 sqm.), consists of two buildings, linked together, represented by a small tower of the walls of the ancient castle dating back to the thirteenth century, one of the few still standing, and a structure much more recent, built in the years 1940-1950.
The house is on two levels, plus the cellar accessible only by an exterior door. The entrance is located on the upper level, where are placed the kitchen and living room. A staircase leads to the lower level, where a small hallway leads to the bedroom, the bathroom and a small storage room. In the tower are allocated the living room, on the top floor, and the bedroom, downstairs.
The house was completely restored in 1996, according to anti-seismic regulations. On that occasion was brought to light the brick vault in the current bedroom. The ceilings of the first floor are flat tiles with wooden beams.
The floors have been restored with brick, traditionally hand-made. In the kitchen the bench including the sink is also made of hand-made bricks. The tiles that protect the wall along the above work plan are also made, glazed and decorated by hand. Always with traditional bricks baked in the furnace were made the two fireplaces, the first in the kitchen at the level of the work plan, the second in the living room.
In the kitchen are cabinets of various sizes with doors of wood.
Oven and stove run on electricity. It is not present a heating system fixed. It is available an electric water heater.
Removable furniture is not included in the sale.
