Description
The Villa whose origins date back to 1665 by the Franzan family has been part of a complex named since 1500 with the term "Barcon", or "large field fence".
Over the centuries the villa has undergone numerous transformations, in particular related to the different uses, including in 1878 the "residence for the English Ladies" and the changes made between 1907 and 1913 as the seat of the "Seminar of Padua".
The building is undoubtedly characterized by a sober and severe aspect, but at the same time grandiose and monumental that was imposed at the time, and still today, with the other buildings and the surrounding Barcon countryside.
The Villa consists of three floors with fourteen windows and an entrance door to the ground floor, fourteen windows and a large curved window with a balustrade surmounted by a human head on the main floor, and fifteen windows in the attic.
The villa, decorated inside with painted beams, has some rooms on the main floor with friezes frescoed under the ceiling, dating from the late seventeenth or early eighteenth centuries.
The ancient church is also part of the complex
----
LOCATION:
The Villa on the border between the town of Sarcedo and the city of Thiene is centrally located in the wide plain north of Vicenza, the so-called Pedemontana area.
The complex is less than 10 minutes away, both from the Thiene toll booth and from the Breganze toll booth of the new "Pedemontana" motorway.
The foothills of Sarcedo and Fara Vicentino crown the property to the north, with Monte Summano and the Altopiano dei Sette Comuni di Asiago rising above the horizon.
----
DETAILS:
Between 2005 and 2009, the current property carried out all the necessary interventions to safeguard the building which was in a completely abandoned state after the war. The coverings have been consolidated, providing for the punctual reinforcement of the wooden elements through incalms, partial replacements, darts of Jupiter, wooden prostheses. The external façades in marble have been preserved and to overcome the phenomenon of capillary ascent, an aerated crawl space was built on the ground floor and the construction of a trench all around the perimeter walls. There was also a macroporous dehumidifying plaster for all the walls of the rooms on the ground floor up to a height of 1.50 m from the ground. The renovation project involved the entire main structure, with a view to preserving the existing finishes, to restore the degradation in progress and to restore the static situation.
The property due to its context, size and historicity lends itself to ambitious restoration and conversion projects to Senior Housing, Hotellerie & hospitality, headquarters of local companies and other forms of enhancement of the context.
Possibility of integrating the purchase also with the neighboring property, where there are over 37,000 cubic meters of volume usable in an area of over 23,000 square meters.
